Open Skies Music is proud to present: Artie Balkwill
Artie Balkwill is a roots and blues artist who bridges traditional, blues, and indie influences. Born and raised in Ogema, Saskatchewan, a farming community of only 250 people, he later relocated to Regina, Saskatchewan. He didn't pick up a guitar until he was 21 and didn't play his first show until almost a decade later. At first, he was afraid to play shows because he always thought that a musician or artist needed an education to play shows, that was until he became a part of the community at The Exchange. Finding inspiration in his newfound friends and community, his performance at The Exchange in Regina is sure to inspire others to pick up a guitar and start playing, no matter their age.
